MN Latinos in Higher Education

The 2011 Summit featured great content but was somewhat slim on attendance. On Friday evening, we welcomed the Assistant Commissioner of the MN Department of Education, Elia Dimayuga-Bruggeman, to Hennepin Technical College's Brooklyn Park campus, where we shared a wonderful meal and discussion about enrollment trends and K-12 collaboration opportunities. Thanks to Cecelia Cervantes, President of Hennepin Tech for the gracious hosting, and to Elia for fitting MNLHE into her busy schedule.

On Saturday we reconvened at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where over twenty different presenters participated in sessions around the theme "Claiming Space and Creating Community." Thanks to the faculty, staff, and students who offered their experience, research, and expertise to the group as we reconnected as we do every fall.
