Call for presentations and participation in Summit 2011--October 7, 8

The Minnesota Network of Latinos in Higher Education seeks proposals for individual presentations or panels focused on all aspects of the Latin@ community past and present.  In identifying the theme of the 2011 MNLHE Summit as "Claiming Space and Creating Community" the network invites the membership of students staff, and faculty to share their creative talents, intellectual projects, and/or their political  work in local communities or on their campuses. How we claim space and create community in local institutions, communities, and in our personal lives is crucial to our survival and well-being. Sharing how we achieve this, our successes, challenges, and vision for this work is but another way of building community, cultivating support for one another, and ensuring that we not only survive but thrive. Panel proposals are welcome, and we want to create space at this year's summit for discourse across the disciplines--be it in art, science, history, sociology, literary or cultural studies, community engagement activities, labor studies, or poetic action.
