Coordinator III
The University of St. Thomas seeks a Coordinator III to support the Music department. This position serves as administrative coordinator supporting undergraduate programs, the department chair, faculty and students. The position is responsible for overseeing music registration, budget and logistical curriculum implementation, and scheduling. The Coordinator manages records and registration to include: schedule music courses, manage student ensembles and lesson registration, and monitor curriculum changes; prepares and reviews department reports; monitors music student status and degree programs; manages departmental budget and funds; coordinates logistics for events; provides administrative support to faculty and department chair; serves as primary point of contact for current students, faculty, staff, vendors and general public; hires, trains, and manages student employees. Qualifications: Minimum High School diploma or GED, plus five to six years administrative experience; experience in program planning/coordination, financial management and general administration; Bachelors degree preferred. Music background preferred and previous experience in the academic environment is desirable. Successful candidates will have strong computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus; ability to work on several projects simultaneously, balance priorities, and meet deadlines; excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; strong oral and written communication skills; detail oriented and time-management skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; must be self-directed, motivated, energetic, personable, and have an ability to work with diverse populations; strong team orientation and a positive attitude; possess traits of good judgment and discretion.
